Continuing with its Random Acts of Kindness initiative, District #11 of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Texas executed three (3) deliveries of food in its Feeding The Community on July 29, 2025 at the following locations in Dallas, Texas:

1. Henry Wade Juvenile Detention Center

2. Juanita Craft Recreation Center

3. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center

Special District Deputy Grand Master Vick Bates was able to coordinate with the Henry Wade Juvenile Detention Center to deliver hamburgers and hot dogs to feed one hundred and fifty (150) kids.

In addition to the burgers and dogs, the District provided bags of chips. District Deputy Grand Master Terrance Sauls, SDDGM Bates and SDDGM Edwin D. Moore were present for the delivery.

Associate Conductress Darnisha Shirley (Dorcus Chapter #19 NWC OES) met them at the door to escort them inside with the food.

While there, multiple managers joined them at the delivery point inside to express their gratitude and to express their openness to work with the District to continue to be a positive impact on the youth at their location. More to come…

Additionally, SDDGM Vick was able to work with Past Master Jose Lopez (Good Street Baptist Lodge #182) to coordinate with the Juanita Craft Recreation Center to deliver burgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken for the seniors at the recreation center.

The District also provided corn and baked beans. Special District Deputy Grand Matron Shirley Hamilton and District Deputy Grand Most Ancient Matron Tarna Thomas assisted with cooking the sides that were served at both recreation centers.

Food was prepared for forty (40) seniors. The seniors were very appreciative and grateful. SDDGM Sauls brought greetings to the seniors and shared with them how valuable they are to our community.

After SDDGM Bates completed the setup of the food for the seniors to be able to partake, DDGM Sauls blessed the food. Joining DDGM Sauls, SDDGM Bates and SDDGM Moore at this location was PM Jose Lopez and SDDGM Eric Hogue.

Finally, SDDGM Preston Watson coordinated with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center for us to also deliver burgers, hot dogs and grilled chicken for their seniors to eat. They also were fed corn and baked beans as their sides.

Fifty (50) seniors were fed. The MLK Jr seniors also expressed their appreciation for the hot meal. With this being the last delivery, District #11wasable to serve the food.

After feeding all of the seniors, there was additional food remaining, so the Director brought the kids and the teens into the room to be served.

The kids received chips with their burger or hotdog, while the teens had the option between chips or the baked beans and corn. Eighteen (18) kids and teens were fed.

Special thanks to Associate Conductress (NWC OES) April Davis, DDGM Diane James and SDDGM Shirley Hamilton for coming out to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center to assist in serving the seniors and kids

Special thanks also to Worshipful Master Tyrone Deadmon II (Cherubim Lodge #237) and the Brothers of Live Stone Lodge #152(Junior Warden Cedric Lee and Lodge Marshall Corey Mims) for also attending and providing assistance at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center.
